FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

PEARL at Home

Q1: Do I need to be fit or experienced in exercise?

A: Not at all! Each session is adaptable. You can choose gentle or more enthusiastic movements depending on how you feel that day.

Q2: How long are the sessions?

A: In response to feedback, sessions are typically 15 minutes, but we  offer 5- and 10-minute options and longer 30 min options so you can choose according to how you feel on the day.

Q3: Can I do the movements if I have pain or mobility issues?

A: Yes! Movements are designed to be safe for a range of abilities, including those with shoulder, knee, or hip pain. You can adapt movements to your comfort level.

Q4: How do I access the videos?

A: After subscribing, you can stream sessions directly from our website on any device with an internet connection.

Q5: Can I try a session before subscribing?

A: Absolutely! We offer a free trial video so you can experience Pearl before committing.

Q6: Do I need a big space or special equipment?
A: No special equipment is required. You can do Pearl safely in a small area at home — just make sure it’s clear of rugs, pets, or anything you could trip over.

Q7: Is it safe to do at home and how do I look after myself?
A: Yes, it’s designed to be safe for most abilities. Always check your surroundings, keep a phone and water nearby, move at a pace that feels comfortable, and use adaptations if needed. Listen to your body and stop if something feels wrong.

Q8: How often should I do Pearl Movements?

A: As often as you like! Even a few minutes a day can make a difference. Many participants enjoy daily sessions, but it is about working out what works best for you.  We do suggest you try to build it into your routine so that it becomes easier to just do it, rather than putting it off "until tomorrow".

Community Class Licences

Q1: What is the PEARL Community Licence?
A: The Community Licence allows care homes, community centres, and other groups to access Pearl Movement videos for multiple participants. It’s designed to support group wellbeing and engagement through fun and accessible movement activities.

Q2: How much space do we need and is it safe for participants?
A: It depends on your space. Ensure participants have enough room to move freely, the area is clear of trip hazards, and the space is well-ventilated. We are not there to provide an in-person risk assessment, but we supply a suggested Risk Assessment form to help you check the environment and keep participants safe.

Q3: Do staff need training to deliver sessions?
A: We offer guidance to support safe, creative, engaging routines in your community.

Q4: Can the sessions be adapted for different abilities?

A: Yes! Movements are designed to be inclusive: seated, standing, or even in-bed adaptations are available.

Q5: What equipment is needed?
A:
Smart TV or laptop plugged into a TV to access videos on our website.

A room large enough to have chairs with space around them.

Q6: Can we show the sessions to residents who are new to exercise?

A: Absolutely! The program is suitable for beginners and those with limited mobility. Sessions encourage participation at any level.

Q7: How do we access the videos?
A: Videos are available in our library which you can view online via laptops connected to the TV or  via smart TVs.

Q8: Can we try Pearl before committing to a licence?
A: Yes, we offer sample videos and demonstrations to help you see how Pearl works for your community before purchasing.
